Mother Nature's Son
Copyright - 1968 EMI Records Ltd.
"Mother Nature's Son" is a Lennon/McCartney song, released by The Beatles on The Beatles (The White Album). It was written primarily by Paul McCartney, with some assistance from John Lennon, and inspired by a lecture given by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi while The Beatles were in India. The same lecture inspired Lennon's unreleased song "Child of Nature," the tune of which he later re-used for "Jealous Guy."
Recorded 9 August 1968
Lyrics:
Born a poor young country boy
Mother Nature's Son
All day long I'm sitting
singing songs for every one
Sit beside a mountain stream
See her waters rise
Listen to the pretty
sound of music as she flies
tu tu tu, tu, du tu
Find me in my field of grass
Mother Nature's Son
swaying daisies sing
a lazy song beneath the sun
tu tu, yeah yeah yeah
Ooo
Ooo
Ah, Mother Nature's Son
