The Beatles - Thank You Girl
Copyright - 1963 EMI Records Ltd.
"Thank You Girl" is a song by The Beatles. Originally intended to be their third single, it was relegated to the B-side of "From Me to You", which was recorded on the same day (March 5, 1963). It wasn't on a British Beatles album, but was featured as the second track on The Beatles' Second Album in the US.
Originally titled "Thank You, Little Girl", the song was deliberately written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney as a tribute to the band's many female fans. Both "From Me to You" and "Thank You Girl" were credited to McCartney-Lennon, as were all the songs on the Please Please Me album. The songwriting credit would be permanently changed to the more familiar Lennon-McCartney for their next release, the "She Loves You" single.
As the B-side to "Do You Want to Know a Secret?", it hit #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the spring of 1964
Lyrics:
Ah, ah, mm, you be good to me
you made me glad when I was blue
And eternally I'll always be
in love with you
And all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl
I could tell the world
a thing or two about love
I know little girl on ly a fool
would doubt our love
And all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl
Thank you girl for lovin' me the way that you do
(way that you do)
That's the kind of love that is too good to be true
Al all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl
Ah, ah, mm, you be good to me
you made me glad when I was blue
And eternally I'll always be
in love with you
And all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl
Ah, ah, ah
